We were deeply inspired by the films of Jean-Luc Godard (especially his colour montage from his ’60 films) and Wong Kar-wai. So shooting on 16mm felt like the natural choice. It was quite a challenge to achieve this in Romania, where it’s not that popular, but we’re hoping we can encourage more filmmakers to try it out. We tried to stretch the stock to its maximum capabilities, in terms of colour, texture and light, in order to showcase an aesthetic beauty that sometimes seems to have been lost in the ‘60s. The music video is almost a collage of our influences and the artist’s chameleonic personality and multiplicity of alter egos. The video was shot over two days, on 1200ft of film, in minus degrees in Bucharest, with an amazing crew.
